There’s no reason to break the bank on account of needing to look UHmazing at all those holiday events. Caitlyn, Ellen, Erika and Sam hit up their favorite budget-friendly stores, dug around their own closets and raided their girlfriend’s jewelry boxes to create four gorgeous and fabulously frugal holiday party outfits.

They were on a mission to find a dress that would be serious bang for the buck AKA it’s perfect for lots of date nights, girls’ nights, birthday parties, nights out dancing – you get the idea .
These Functional Girls managed to conjure up a glamorous formal gown, a romantic semi-formal dress and two perfect little black dresses (LBDs)… can you guess which one came from Goodwill?
So never forget that style is an attitude, not a price tag. Be inspired and resourceful with your fashion and don’t leave home without your dancing shoes…

Ellen scored her $50 society-chic pewter R&M Richards gown at Ross! The beaded collar and front center slit create sophisticated drama, while the strappy faux reptile Studio 8 heels from her closet give the look a little edge. The earrings are vintage from CJ’s styling inventory via grandma.

Caitlyn swooned when she spied this $29 A-line semi-wool little black dress on the clearance rack at Kohls. This simple, classic dress is the perfect canvas for her easy and chic gold accessories.

Sam utilized her sisterhood to coordinate an uber feminine, no budget party look. This Express sweetheart LBD with monochromatic zebra overlay was thrifted for $5 at the San Marcos Goodwill a few years ago.
The Apt. 9 Peep Toe Dress Heels are from her mom Rolanda’s closet via Kohls. The faux pearl and rhinestone Compass Trading Co. headband and the Target gun metal rhinestone earrings are from CJ’s styling inventory. Erika loaned her the luxe Forever 21 Bejewled Oval Ring.
*As I mentioned in our Naughty & Nice editorial, the day we shot our holiday beauty & style content was pure chaos because we lost our hair & make-up team at the last minute. Despite the curve ball, the girls rallied and did their own, and each others, hair & make-up. It’s kind of amazing what women can accomplish when they’re passionate and receptive to one another. Huge, massive thanks to our girl Dawn Hewitt (and her unsuspecting husband Rannie) for letting us take over your house and play with all of your vintage furniture and home decor accessories! Tina Russell, your studio lights made all the difference in the world – thanks for doing us a solid! And to all my Functional Girls, thank you for coming on this adventure. I’m so proud and lucky to have you in my corner!
